Here are some practicle tips for keeping cats
STINKY CAT
Cats a very clean creatures.
Make sure they have clean litter available at all times.
Remove Dirty litter daily.
FLAT CAT
Because Ragdolls lack the instinct to defend themselves
when attacked, they must be kept as indoor pets only. However, they can be
easily leash trained so that they can go for walks with you outside.
Alternatively look at building or purchasing a Cat Run.
Not only will this your cat safe it helps protect our native wildlife.
GIFT WRAPT
Make sure if buying a person a cat for a present, that they actually want it.
CAT MUNCH
Kittens should be feed with wet food three times a day.
Adults should be feed once a day.
Dry food and Water should always be available.
Try and vary you cat's food, different varieties and brands.
If you have a cat that particluary
like milk, give them a Pet food milk, instead of regular milk as it can lead
to eye and digestion problems.
DESTRUCTO CAT
Boredom is not a problem for animals in their natural
environment but once confined to an enclosure or a backyard it is a completely
different story.
That is why it is important to enrich their environment.
That means giving them lots of things to do that allow them to use their instincts.
Interactive toys provide great entertainment for cats.
Scratching is one of your cat's most ingrained instincts.
Keep a scratching post near where the cat usually sleeps or, if he has already
picked out a corner of your sofa, keep it next to that chosen spot. You may
need to train your cat to use his scratching post. Do not pick him up and
put his paws on the scratching post (that will only make him want to avoid
it). Make the scratching post appealing to him: rub catnip on it or mist it
with catnip spray; drape a heavy string (a long leather shoelace works great)
over it and wiggle it to catch his interest; put treats on the very top.
RUB-A-DUB-DUB KITTY IN THE TUB
Bathing cats is necessary for show cats and some long
haired varieties.
It is best start them young.
This is from a Cat magazine years ago: "Best way
to bath a cat is find an old window screen, place it in the tub or sink, the
cat will dig its claws into the screen and stay there the entire time of bathing.
It works, I have done it."
